Biblical Names

Lately I’ve been reading Certain Women by Madeleine L’Engle (about King David and his wives) and Rachel and Leah by Orson Scott Card and a thought struck me.

Nearly all the Biblical women’s names are still used today. Not all. Nearly.

But Eve. Sarah. Rebekah. Leah. Rachel. Hannah. Abigail. Mary, for crying out loud. Ruth. Naomi. Esther. Anna. (There are very few women in the New Testament

Granted, very few to none of parents name their daughters Michal, or Rahab, or Orpah, or Jezebel for crying out loud. But it’s still cool, isn’t it?

In other news I am in contact with my roommate, and I added a jazz improv class to my schedule, and I really like the Big Bang Theory and my basement bedroom.

So there you have it.
